Outlit Labs Inc. (“Outlit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides software that helps organizations understand and manage customer relationships by bringing together customer context from the tools and systems they use.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and retain personal data when you use our websites, applications, APIs, integrations, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
1. Our Role
Depending on the context, Outlit may act as either a controller or processor of personal data.
When we collect information directly from users of our website or Service, such as account information, website analytics, or communications with us, Outlit generally determines how that information is used.
When our customers connect business systems or otherwise provide data to Outlit for processing through the Service, Outlit generally processes that information on behalf of and under the instructions of the customer.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that they have the rights, permissions, and lawful bases necessary to provide personal data to Outlit.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
Account and Contact Information
Information such as:
- name;
- email address;
- company name;
- job title;
- workspace information;
- authentication information; and
- communications with Outlit.
Usage and Technical Information
Information relating to how the Service is accessed and used, including:
- product usage events;
- device and browser information;
- IP address;
- logs and diagnostics;
- integration activity;
- performance information; and
- support interactions.
Connected Integration Data
If you or your organization connects third-party systems to Outlit, we may receive and process information made available through those integrations.
Depending on the systems connected, this may include:
- CRM records;
- customer and account information;
- emails and business communications;
- Slack or other workplace communications;
- customer support conversations and tickets;
- call transcripts, recordings, summaries, or metadata;
- product usage and analytics information;
- billing and subscription information;
- calendar and scheduling information;
- contracts or related business records; and
- other data made available through integrations selected by the customer.
The specific information Outlit receives depends on the integrations selected and the permissions granted by the customer.
3. Website Analytics and Cookies
Our marketing website may use cookies and similar technologies.
Where required, we use a cookie banner to obtain consent before enabling non-essential analytics.
If you accept analytics, we may use analytics providers, including PostHog and Outlit's own analytics systems, to understand website usage, page views, clicks, demo interest, and site performance.
These technologies may use cookies, local storage, or similar identifiers.
If you decline non-essential analytics, we will not intentionally activate those analytics technologies on our marketing website. We may still use strictly necessary cookies or storage to provide the website and remember your preferences.
4. How We Use Information
We may use personal data to:
- provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
- authenticate users and manage accounts and workspaces;
- connect and maintain third-party integrations;
- process customer data at the direction of our customers;
- generate customer context, summaries, signals, analytics, recommendations, and workflow outputs;
- provide customer support and troubleshoot issues;
- monitor performance and reliability;
- prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- improve and develop Outlit;
- communicate with users and customers;
- comply with applicable law; and
- enforce our agreements and policies.
5. Artificial Intelligence and Product Improvement
Certain Outlit features use artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.
To provide these features, information may be processed by third-party AI service providers acting as subprocessors or service providers to Outlit.
We may use technical usage information and aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify a customer or individual to analyze, evaluate, develop, secure, and improve our products and artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.
Outlit does not use identifiable Customer Data to train generalized or cross-customer artificial intelligence or machine learning models unless the customer has expressly authorized that use.
Any processing remains subject to applicable law, contractual obligations, and restrictions imposed by the source or provider of the data.
6. How We Share Information
We may share personal data with service providers and subprocessors that help us operate and provide Outlit.
These providers may support functions such as:
- cloud hosting and infrastructure;
- databases and storage;
- authentication;
- third-party integrations;
- artificial intelligence services;
- analytics and monitoring;
- email delivery;
- billing and payments;
- customer support; and
- security.

We may also disclose information:
- when required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;
- to investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our agreements;
- to protect the rights, safety, security, or property of Outlit, our customers, users, or others;
- to professional advisors such as attorneys, accountants, auditors, and insurers where appropriate; or
- in connection with an actual or proposed merger, financing, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction.
7. Sale and Sharing of Personal Information
Outlit does not currently sell personal information for monetary consideration.
We also do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under applicable privacy laws.
We may disclose information to service providers and subprocessors as necessary to provide and operate the Service. Such disclosures are not intended to constitute a sale of personal information.
If our practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notices, choices, or opt-out mechanisms required by applicable law.
8. Customer Data
As between Outlit and our customers, customers retain ownership of the data they provide or connect to the Service.
We process Customer Data to provide the Service and in accordance with customer instructions, our agreements with the customer, and applicable law.
If you are an individual whose information has been provided to Outlit by one of our customers, you may need to contact that customer directly regarding privacy requests. Where appropriate, we will assist our customers in responding to those requests.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing the Service, maintaining customer accounts, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements.
Account, workspace, and service information may generally be retained while an account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward.
Connected integration data may be retained while the applicable customer relationship and integration remain active and while the information is necessary to provide the Service.
When an integration is disconnected or a verified deletion request is received, we will delete or de-identify the applicable stored Customer Data within a reasonable period, subject to:
- legal and regulatory requirements;
- legitimate security or fraud-prevention needs;
- contractual obligations; and
- normal backup and disaster-recovery processes.
Information may remain temporarily in backups, logs, or disaster-recovery systems until those systems are overwritten or deleted in accordance with our standard retention practices.
We may retain aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify an individual or customer.
10. Privacy Rights and Requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data.
These may include the right to:
- request access to personal data;
- request correction of inaccurate information;
- request deletion of personal data;
- request a copy or export of certain information;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
- opt out of certain uses or disclosures where required by applicable law.

Authorized customer administrators may also contact us regarding information processed through their organization's Outlit workspace.
We will not unlawfully discriminate against an individual for exercising applicable privacy rights.
11. California Privacy Rights
California residents may have additional rights under applicable California privacy laws, including rights to request information about personal information collected, used, disclosed, sold, or shared; request deletion or correction; and opt out of certain sales or sharing of personal information.
As described above, Outlit does not currently sell personal information for monetary consideration or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

12. International Data Transfers
Outlit is based in the United States.
Personal data may be processed and stored in the United States and other countries where Outlit or its service providers operate.
Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal data.
13. Security
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
These measures may include protections for data in transit and at rest, access controls, monitoring, and other security practices appropriate to the nature of the information processed.
However, no method of transmission, storage, or security is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Third-Party Services
The Service may integrate with third-party products and services.
Your use of those services may also be governed by the privacy policies and terms of the applicable third-party providers.
Outlit is not responsible for the independent privacy practices of third parties.
15. Children's Privacy
The Service is designed for businesses and is not directed to children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through our Service.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Service, business practices, technology, or legal obligations.
